The first movement is a fanciful, almost circus-like piece, with nonstop energy throughout. At eight minutes in length, it can be performed as a stand alone movement. The 2nd movement is more serious in nature, with more lyrical solo passages and a chorale-like figure. The last movement returns to the mixed meter, wild, and celebratory nature of the 1st movement. Commissioned in 2010 by a 14 member consortium, led by Jacob Cameron, of Spectrum Brass. Premiered at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, with Matthew George conducting the Grand Symphonic Winds. Duration 16'.
