Electricity

This pulsating composition, written when the composer was still in high school, transforms attributes of electricity into musical sounds. Reverberating ostinatos represent crackling bursts of current while intricate moving lines of woodwinds and mallet percussion reflect the rapid motion of electrons darting about. Adding to the effect are intense lightning strikes provided by thick, explosive low brass chords with percussion generating sounds of electrical energy throughout.
