Euphonius 4
Publisher Desc.
"Euphonius 4 is a tuneful, grade 3 work in three movements for euphonium/tuba quartet. It was commissioned by Professor Jeff Held and Concordia University Irvine (CA) for the 2019 "Composer Spotlight" concert featuring the music of Robert Spittal. Movement I, "Fanfare for a New King" puts a blue and funky twist on the regal brass fanfare tradition. The second movement, "Waltz noir", is a dark blend of minor modes and lyrical melody, and the final movement,"alla turca", is a lively dance in asymmetrical meter (5/4) that brings the work to an exciting and satisfying finish."
