Fiddle According to Vassar
Fiddling great Vassar Clements was not only known as the top bluegrass fiddler in the world, but also as the father of an entirely new style some call "Hillbilly Jazz." From his childhood days of imitating Big Bands on the radio with his fiddle, to being a member of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys, Vassar was a national treasure! In this video, Vassar explores the classic licks and techniques that have made him one of the greatest fiddlers of all time. He teaches some of his best-known original and traditional fiddle breaks to tunes such as: Avalanche; Good Woman's Love; Lonesome Fiddle Blues; Orange Blossom Special; Down Yonder and more.
