In 1950 Hovhaness composed Manko, a suite of fourteen pieces for oboe and bassoon. Ten of these are duets, six of which were published as part of the Suite for Oboe and Bassoon in 1968. This edition is the first publication of the other four other duets. Like the other pieces in Manko, Hovhaness has identified them with a title and a mode. This edition contains the composer's articulations found in the holograph, but please note that Hovhaness did not include any dynamics. Within the full collection of Manko, these duets are (in order), Nos. 4, 6. 9, and 11.
