This collections contains sacred compositions of French composer from seven centuries. The collection includes first editions of previously unknown works as well as well-known and popular works. Most of the compositions are for four-part mixed choir and have texts from the Latin liturgy which are also familiar in other countries. Added translations in German, English and French are helpful for interpretation of the original texts. The conductor's score includes a CD with recordings of selected works, sung by the Figure Humaine Chamber Choir conducted by the editor, who is the music director at Notre-Dame and Sainte-Marie-Madeleine in Paris. Many pieces are a cappella, and the accompanied pieces include an organ accompaniment which may also be played on the piano. This collection is a real treasure trove for mixed choirs who want to explore sacred music from France.
