This is an Aretha Franklin-style, slow, bluesy, gospel tune in 3/4 time. It features lead tenor saxophone, and lots of plunger work by the brass. Replacing the piano with a Hammond B3 is a nice option for this chart. Gospel begins bare bones and boils to a rousing finish and is an extremely satisfying chart to play.
