If your beginners are ready to sound like "the big boys," then this is the piece to play!  Composed in the same style as many more advanced overtures, it has exciting, albeit simple, melodies, slow melodic sections, dynamic contrasts and more.  There are a few challenges at this level but it's a very worthwhile piece to have your students working on.  The sense of accomplishment your students will get from being able to perform a piece like this is immense!
