James Syler's band score is paired with a historic film by the early French film maker Georges Melies. "Haunted Castle" (1896) is famously known as the world's very first horror movie. It may not cause goosebumps for modern audiences, but it must have been extremely eerie to 1896 viewers. Melies is known as the grandfather of film special effects and many of his novel techniques are on display in the film. The film is shown in its entirety with no cuts or edits.
