"Hot Jazz" from the 30's! With a retro swing feel, this chart sounds like Benny Goodman has returned for another shot. You can almost hear Gene Krupa playing the drum part in the middle section. The solo section features a suggested alto sax solo but is open for additional solos, and the piano fills are written into the part, or can be improvised. This piece is structured so that it can be played with any 4, 5 or 6 horn ensemble and rhythm section, with additional horn parts included so it can be played with virtually any combination of horns. Very flexible!
