Publisher Desc.  This old English nursery rhyme was first published in the late 1700s in a publication called the Newest Christmas Box, printed in London in 1797, but was believed to be much older. It has been said that the text could refer to Henry VIII, Catherine of Aragon and Henry's problems in producing suitable offspring.
