In Motion

IN MOTION was written in the Summer of 2017 as a result of a friend's suggestion. This was the first time I had attempted to compose for a guitar orchestra ensemble, which has only emerged in recent years. This somewhat syncopated work is meant to be both fun for the performers and the audience. The 5th Guitar 's sixth string must be tuned down to drop-D tuning. The rest of the guitars are in standard tuning. The key signatures represent A Dorian and F Lydian. As of 2023, I made a couple of very small edits to make the work easier to perform. The work now includes optional divided parts in some areas as well as a few more comfortable note edits.
