In Nuce, Id Est, In Actua
Publisher Desc.
Here is a suite of three pieces inspired by Ravel's technical and artistic masterpiece "Gaspard de la Nuit." It is in three movements, modeled after the source, in its moods and tempi. This music uses the musical language of the French pre-WWI era, but adds modern topographical and rhetorical devices, as well as some modern post-tonal harmonies, which, oddly enough, are easier to track and play than Ravel's original octatonics. The MP3 audio sample is complete, and begins at a PP dynamic, so turn down your speakers or headphones. For the advanced player, but not as utterly virtuostic as the Gaspard, especially in the final movement. 33 mins, 55 ppgs.Find us at www.gatewateditions.com or at www.michaelbb.info.
