Inner Voices

Commissioned in memory of renowned oboist/pedagogue John Mack, the title hints at how influential teachers shape their students' internal dialogues. Cast in two movements, the first (Ricercare doloroso) uses a motive generated from the dates of Mack's tenure with the Cleveland Orchestra; the second (Turkey Trot) is a hilarious romp inspired by the legendary story of the dancing turkey.
