Hold the germs, not the sound! Double-Layer instrument bell cover made from polyester/spandex fabric stretches over bell. Multiple layers do a better job of blocking small particles than single layers. Two layers of fabric creates 140+ denier rating, well above the 70 denier nylon fabrics tested. Research study recommended bell covers with double layer design. Beware of cheap single ply or homemade woodwind instrument covers or brass covers.
