Jump Down Turn Around
This traditional American work song is given a driving gospel rock treatment by all-star arranger Fred Sturm. The features include moderate ranges, notated rhythm section parts, and an open solo section that can be deleted if necessary or can accommodate multiple soloists. Any player can solo with notes from the concert F pentatonic scale using the included transposed scale sheet, and the solo section can be repeated as many times as necessary with backgrounds cued as desired. For students wishing not to improvise, a suggested solo is included in all parts. Scored for full jazz ensemble, it will sound full and complete with an optional minimum instrumentation of nine players (AAT Saxes, 2 Trumpets, 1 Trombone, and PBD Rhythm). Include more players by using any or all of the included Flute, Clarinet, F Horn, Tuba, and Baritone T.C. parts. Stomps and hand claps will make this an instant hit with players and audiences alike!
