A cappella
This octavo was commissioned for the American Guild of Organists' 2008 national convention, giving it great visibility with a large number of church musicians and choral directors. Its text comes fromlate-nineteenth century English poet Francis Thompson. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Steven Stucky has transformed this poem into a majestic, sacred choral arranged for mixed choir, with piano accompaniment for rehearsal only. Appropriate for high school or skilled church choirs.
