Letters of a Lifetime
First published by Oxford University Press in 1990 but now long out of print, this wide-ranging volume provides an excellent starting point for those wishing to get to know Elgar through his correspondence. A hugely entertaining volume demonstrating the diversity of Elgar's correspondents and writing styles, it contains the best of Elgar's correspondence falling outside the scope of the editor's four earlier volumes. Errors have been corrected and footnotes thoroughly updated and expanded to reflect relocation of the underlying source material since the publication of the first edition. This is the first volume in the series Elgar: The Collected Correspondence, Series I, Vol. 1. Hardcover book, 584 p.
