Commissioned and composed for the 40th anniversary of the Wilmette Community Band. The title comes from the name of the Gross Pointe Lighthouse in Evanston, Illinois. The lighthouse was constructed in 1873 to serve as the lead lighthouse on the approach to Chicago, which had become one of the nation's leading transportation hubs.
