Love LostJames P. Colman - KeySynth Studios
Publisher Desc. This piece seeks to convey the different emotions of lost love. The first section (Love missed) uses a single-note melody to symbolize the return to mind of a lost love. The second section (Love remembered) presents the melody entirely with intervals of a sixth to represent two people traveling through life in harmony. The last section (Love mourned) evokes the pain of love that is lost forever. The composition will develop students in the following areas: melodic emphasis, spatial relationships, parallel sixths in one hand, and arpeggiated chords.
