Behzad Ranjbaran was born in Iran, came to the United States in 1974 and now teaches on the faculty of The Juilliard School. His virtuosic Nocturne was published in 2005 and takes ten minutes to perform. It contains moments of great intrigue as well as moments of great energy. This one is an audience pleaser and would be a wonderful addition to any serious solo piano performance.
