O Sacred Head, Now Wounded

A beautiful marriage of text and melody, this time-honored medieval text is set to an orchestrated version of Chopin's Piano Prelude in C Minor, Op. 28 No. 20. Through song we are taken to Christ's final procession to the cross and His suffering and death. Musically, it works equally well with just piano accompaniment or with organ, which is an orchestral reduction. It opens with an optional snare drum dirge.
