Publisher Desc.  Composed for two pianos Orbits reflects various aspects of the imagery found in the poem 'Ich lebe mein Leben in wachsenden Ringen' from Rainer Maria Rilke's Book for the Hours of Prayer. As I maintain a repetition of harmonic and melodic themes the listener gains a sense of widening circles through an ever-expanding meter. A running eighth note provides a constant sense of travel (albeit non-linear) as we 'move out over the things of this world.
