Phantasie on Singaporean Folk Songs

Sy Brandon - Co-Op Press
Publisher Desc.  This composition is in a Neo-Romantic style that has a romantic sentiment with some 21st Century language. The first movement is based on the folk song Munnaeru Vaalibaa. It begins with a slow introduction and proceeds to a fast section in sonata form. The second movement is lyrical and is based on Di Tanjung Katong. The meter is changed from 4/4 to 7/8 and the movement is in ABA form. The last movement is a set of transformations built on Chan Mali Chan. It is the most technical and exciting of the three movements.
