Lowell Liebermann's third piano sonata begins with a mark of "Inquieto, esitante" (translated as 'restless, faltering') and ends "Presto." This virtuosic work takes 16 minutes to play. Commissioned by the American Pianists Association for James Giles.  Premiered by Giles on April 11, 2003 at the Indiana Historical Society, Indianapolis.
