Pie Jesu

This is a choral adaptation of Pie Jesu, the most famous movement of Requiem by Faure. It is one of the masterpieces of all time that deserved an adaptation for choir. His melody, full of sweetness and beauty, unfolds like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Camille Saint-Saens said of it: Just as Mozart's is the only Ave verum Corpus, this is the only Pie Jesu. Faure wrote about his Requiem: It has been said that my Requiem does not express the fear of death and someone has called it a lullaby of death. But it is how I see death: as a happy deliverance, an aspiration to a higher happiness, rather than a painful experience.
