Praise, My Soul, the King of Heavenarr. Howard Helvey - Hinshaw Music, Inc.
This majestic and stately setting of the beloved nineteenth-century hymn LAUDA ANIMA, is colorful and unique. The brass and choir begin quietly with the opening verses of Psalm 103. This sets-up an exhilarating key change and the stately entrance of the congregational hymn. The third stanza is a cappella and includes rich harmonies. This extended hymn concertato is scored for SATB choir, brass quartet, and organ.
