Psalm 121
Publisher Desc.
Psalm 121 is a piece for soprano solo and piano, based on the text of
Psalm 121. This piece was composed in 2016. Although it is composed in the
key of C major, the piece soon modulates to other keys within section A, only
to return to the home key, as it leads into section B. Section B hosts a
plethora of harmonies in the piano part, accompanied by a chromatic line in
the soprano solo's melody. The sixteenth notes in the piano are in stark
contrast to the long notes of the soprano, ultimately leading to section A,
albeit with modifications, before ending in a coda of three
"Amen"s.
