Ready for Ragtime

Students will thoroughly enjoy this upbeat piece in ragtime style!  The essence of ragtime is captured in the syncopated melody.  The traditional jump-bass accompaniment usually found in this style is replaced with one using harmonic fifths and single notes.  The easy meter of 4/4 and the key of F Major aids in keeping the piece accessible.  The simplified accompaniment allows students to enjoy ragtime style at a much earlier level.
