Rise, Shine, You People

This powerful concertato is scored for SATB choir, congregation, and organ with optional brass quintet and timpani. The extended introduction opens with a fanfare, but also includes sections in which the hymn tune and various countermelodies are shared between organ and brass. An energetic a cappella setting of stanza three is followed by a brief interlude.
