Sailing

This easy piece for string orchestra builds confidence with many unison rhythms between parts and uncomplicated structure. All sections experience contrasting dynamics, melodic lines in first position, and a key change from D Major to G Major. A straight-forward eighth note call and response pattern will encourage student listening and counting independence, with no tempo changes until the final fermata. UIL sight-reading level VI.
