Langston Hughes' poem Helen Keller is set in an original work for treble choir with piano and cello that champions her strength of character and how she overcame her challenges. Set in three distinct sections to coincide with the stanzas of the poem, each stanza has its own musical independence but also deliberate connective tissue to join the sections together.
