A sequential instrumental curriculum designed for the development of sightreading skills. Each volume contains an effective and easy-to-use evaluation and assessment chart; a "constant eighth" concept for rhythmic accuracy; competency sets that address each element of meter (time)/rhythm, key signatures/scales, and pitch accuracy/intervals/arpeggios; articulation/phrasing, tempo/interpretation/style, and dynamic contrast; an assessment exercise at the end of each competency set; prominently identified keys/scales/modes; optional repeats for element reinforcement and extra practice; essential vocabulary; and flexibility within the percussion line. Top and bottom lines can be used as a traditional snare/bass line or any battery instrument may read either line (or a combination) to reinforce subdivision, pulse, or full ensemble rhythms.
