Each piece includes a brief history of the source tune, along with a list of the most familiar hymns that use it. Authorization is given to substitute an appropriate hymn title for the tune name on programs and church bulletins. Since most organs are just as unique as their players, registration and manual choices are mostly left up to the performer. Each chorale prelude in the collection is also available individually
