Slavonic Dances, Op. 72
Opus 72 is the second of two sets of dances (Op. 46 is the first) inspired by the composer's Bohemian folk-music roots. This new book in the Alfred Masterwork Edition series, Slavonic Dances Op.72, is edited by Carol Bell, Maurice Hinson & Allison Nelson. There are eight duets in this volume, each one displaying rhythmic energy and lyricism. Based on the original edition, this volume includes fascinating performance notes, helpful editorial fingering, and suggested metronome marks for the various sections of each piece. Contents are: Slavonic Dance No. 1 (B Major) Molto vivace; Slavonic Dance No. 2 (E minor) Allegretto grazioso; Slavonic Dance No. 3 (F Major) Allegro; Slavonic Dance No. 4 (D-flat Major) Allegro grazioso; Slavonic Dance No. 5 (B-flat minor) Poco adagio; Slavonic Dance No. 6 (B-flat Major) Moderato, quasi Minuetto; Slavonic Dance No. 7 (C Major) Presto and Slavonic Dance No. 8 (A-flat Major) Lento grazioso, quasi tempo di Valse.
