Sonata in D Major No. 37 Hob XXIV
Publisher Desc.
Here is the single most popular of all the Haydn sonatas, for students, teachers and performers. The music itself is all 100% original notes of Haydn's. The 4/4 signature and the 16th notes have been replaced by 2/4 and 1/8 notes, making the first movement quite a bit more user-friendly to read and execute. The second movement is also in 2/4 and uses three measure phrases, so that the highly ornamented line is much more visible and playable. The 3rd is largely untouched, except for the new layout. GateWay Editions feature super-convenient pageturns, and this edition is a classic example of how layout means more than just printing or paper-saving. Audio is the 1st movement, at a relaxed pace, so one can hear all the small ornaments, which are written out, throughout the piece. Staple-bound, 9 X 12.
