Publisher Desc.  String Thang is an all-out rocker for solo violin and string orchestra based on the 12-bar blues form. All of the violins are treated as one group, giving those who usually sit in the Violin 2 section a chance to shine. String Thang is available in both Grade 2 and Grade 3 versions which can be played independently or together for those special "side by side" concerts. The solo parts are graded as well and can be played by individuals or a group. The musicians get to play the blues more authentically through the use of glissandi, "blue" notes, and improvisational opportunities.
