Suite for Brass Quintet is a group of five works that demonstrate the composer's command of the musical elements. They are rhythmically and harmonically diverse, melodically interesting, and structurally sound. The first movement is a brief but exciting fanfare to announce the work and its building materials. The second movement is a moving memorial to Kevin Blair. The third movement is a rousing and spirited movement featuring the tuba. The fourth movement is a moving traditional hymn tune arranged in tribute to Betty Bruchert. The last movement is a fitting conclusion to this exciting work. It was composed for Kevin Eisensmith.
