J.S. Bach's beloved 10th movement of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (BWV 147), more commonly known as Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, is matched with the liturgical text Te Deum Ladamus. The familiar pastoral mood of the music enhances the majesty of the text and lends a freshness to both. It is not difficult and is a welcome addition to any general worship service.
