Teddy Bear: Rhythm Composition

This fun group activity is an Orff arrangement and rhythm composition for first or second grade to review quarter notes, two eighth notes, and quarter rests using adorable teddy bear two-beat rhythms. First students learn a simple arrangement of Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear on the barred instruments. Then they are divided into small groups and given a set of rhythm cards, which are printable in color and black and white, and asked to arrange them into their own composition. Students can transcribe their composition on the included worksheet or choose an extension from the included list.
