The Best Hymns of all Time for Brass (Book 1)
Publisher Desc.
A terrific collection of sixty of the best-loved hymns ever composed. The hymns are scored for brass quartet but can be used with virtually any combination of brass instruments: brass quintet or small to medium brass ensemble. They are presented in a set of three books and include full four-part instrumental scores plus parts for 1st B flat trumpet, 2nd B flat trumpet, horn in F (with a separate optional part for horn in E flat), trombone and/or optional tuba (doubles trombone). An optional but useful simplified keyboard part is included. These arrangements are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used as interludes in a service, or they could be used to accompany solo, choral or congregational singing. Book 1 contains twenty popular hymns: Abide with Me; All Glory, Laud and Honor; All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name; All Through the Night; City of God, How Broad and Far; Fairest Lord Jesus; Fight the Good Fight; Forth in Thy Name; Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer; He who Would Valiant Be; Holy, Holy, Holy!; I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say; Jesu, Lover of My Soul; Nearer My God to Thee; Now Thank We All Our God; O Worship the King; Rejoice, the Lord is King; Soldiers of Christ, Arise; The Lord is My Shepherd; What a Friend we Have in Jesus. The music has been set in brass-friendly keys so they are not compatible with the string collection of the same name.
