The Sunne of Grace
A six-movement choral cycle for soprano solo, SATB chorus, and harp based on the incarnation of the Divine in the life of Christ from Medieval English texts. The harp part is at times robust, at other times pensive, and often serves as rhythmic counterpoint to the choral voices. By way of textural contrasts, the third and fifth movements are for SATB chorus unaccompanied, the second and fourth movements are for soprano solo and harp, and the final movement gathers together the full ensemble. Any movement can be performed on its own as well. The six movements are: I. Hand by Hand We Shule Us Take; II. Jesu, Swete, Sone Dere; III. The Sunne of Grace; IV. I Have Set My Hert So Hie; V. All Other Love Is Like the Moone; VI. In excelsis gloria. Duration: 17:00
