Three Renaissance Airs
Publisher Desc.
16th Century Italian master Giovanni Palestrina originally composed these short pieces for three solo voices (two sopranos and an alto). This setting for two trumpets and horn provides a wonderful introduction for your advanced brass players to the joys of performing Renaissance counterpoint. The keys and ranges make these arrangements somewhat challenging for high school musicians, but the rewards of the music justify the extra effort. Movements II. and III. are suitable be played as a Prelude to a worship service.
