School choirs and liturgical children’s choirs both will enjoy this lyrical two-part Christmas anthem. The charming melody and counter-melody carry us through the first two verses. Verse 3 ventures into new modal territory, and then resolutely brings us back to the same musical material in a new key. The text brings familiar scenes and characters of the Christmas story with an emphasis on how each leads us to the holy child Jesus. The final verse prays that we may seek him every day and be led once again to the infant Jesus. Children will enjoy learning and presenting this new work in a Christmas pageant or during liturgy.
