Publisher Desc.  "Valley of the Shadow" was composed in memory of the composer's mother, Toi Francis Christopher (1927-1997). The work is textually based on the biblical 23rd Psalm and is a through-composed musical picture of the last days of her life. While the process of death can be sad and unpleasant, life after death is a beautiful assurance declared in the final section of the piece.
