Wild and Wacky Winter
For some unaccountable reason, winter weather systems have been behaving in a wild and wacky manner. It has become hot where it is usually cold and wet where it is usually dry. Failing to provide an explanation, the meteorologists and broadcasters concoct a plot to blame the problems on a convergence of "El Nino" and "La Nina." Much to their surprise, these two weather systems "storm" the broadcast studio and defend themselves against these erroneous allegations. When it appears no explanation is forthcoming, an unknown system named "El Meano" comes forth to announce that he is the source of all of their problems. When confronted with his wayward behavior, "El Meano" promises to abandon his meteorological misdeeds if all pledge to work toward conservation and environmental awareness. This comical look at our weather systems teaches us all an important lesson about ecology and preserving our earth. Grades 3-6. 40 minutes.
