Wingwalker was inspired by the fearless acts of those who risk life and limb for the sake of entertainment. At first, "wing walking" was conceived as a way for World War I pilots to fix mechanical problems in midair; however, in the post World War I era, the flying circus provided a platform for war veterans to show off their flying skills and the wing walkers took center stage. Accordingly, this music can be characterized as edgy and always "on the brink".
