With Joyous Anticipation is a contemporary upbeat Latin-jazz influenced original composition by Kenneth Baird for solo piano. Filled with joyful energy, the music begins with a syncopated cut-time melody that periodically seems to effortlessly transition into and out of 3/2 and 6/8 meters, and builds to a truly celebratory conclusion. This musical expression of joy is appropriate for Christmas performances as well as performances in any and every season and setting in which joy is to be expressed. The quick pace of the performance tempo will require mature performers.
