With the Sound of the Trumpet

For this volume of practical and creative hymn settings for trumpet and organ duet, five composers - Marianne Kim, David Lasky, Robert Lau, Brenda Portman, and Nigel Williams - wrote two contrasting settings of familiar hymns: one loud and energetic, and one quiet and introspective. Thus, throughout the volume you will find pieces that are suitable for preludes, offertories, postludes, and for concert use. Each composer has explored their own style in the integration of the trumpet and organ together.
