Wynken, Blynken and Nod

Eugene Fields' poem highlights the fantastic dreamlike excursion of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod as they sail off in a wooden shoe to fish the night seas with nets of silver and gold. It feels like a traditional sea shanty, but this original composition has plenty of musical excitement to offer young singers. The violin obbligato and artful piano accompaniment really add to the texture, and the conservative ranges in each voicing make it approachable yet satisfying.
